Charlotte’s Web Birthday Party

I had so much fun putting together our daughter’s Charlotte’s Web Birthday Party! I focused on all things farm, gingham, and fall! I had a lot of barns and farm animals integrated into our decor, but also tried (again, tried!) to not go too overboard.

I found these precious Charlotte’s Web party invitations from Etsy. You have the option of printing them or sending out the jpeg to all of your friends via text or Facebook group. I got them printed at Vistaprint because if you choose invitations> upload your own design, they come with envelopes.

I also made these pink barn door hangers for our front doors. I just used pink and black poster board for the barns, then added some acrylic paint to “distress” the barn a little. To reinforce it for outdoor use, I hot glued the barns onto a piece of foam board, and I glued the twine hanger in between the foam and poster boards. Then I tied a little bandana around the top of the door hangers.

I also had red and pink bandanas at the entrance of our home, so that kids could dress up for the farm party by putting them on their outfits or around their necks.

I did have chalk and bubbles on the front porch as well, in case the party ventured outdoors. It was a little hot, but I wanted to have enough children’s party activities because we don’t have a playset and didn’t order a bouncy house. I thought about doing a petting zoo, but it was too hot, I was worried about the smell.

Then inside I had a little craft station. I was unsure if the toddlers would even be interested in this, but they actually loved it! I printed out some Charlotte’s Web and Farm-themed color sheets, purchased washable thick Crayola crayons, and ordered some farm animal foam stickers from Amazon.

I am a big scrapbooker, so I had some pink and red craft paper on hand, and I ended up cutting out these little 5-inch pink and red barns ahead of time so that they could color on the barns and put stickers on there. For our two-year-old, stickers and crayons are about all of the art tools that we can handle! No glue and no mess! Even the older kids (closer to age 5) had a good time!

For our dining room centerpiece, I ordered this barn treat stand from Oriental Trading to put little rice krispies on to look like “hay bales.” I also used mason jars, baby’s breath, sunflowers, and a few daisies and carnations to give us that “farm feel.” I wanted to make the farm feel girly, so I used a lot of pink to go alongside red.

I found these amazing chocolate-covered Oreos from Etsy and then inserted them into a white picket fence floral box that came with a styrofoam insert! I put some green crinkle paper (Dollar tree!) on top and then stuck the oreos’ sticks right in there. They were a huge hit and added so much personality to our display! They were also our party favors.

Our menu was Chic-fil-a nuggets and fruit, homemade Chex mix, and homemade mini pigs in a blanket. This was the perfect menu for our hungry toddlers! They loved having the Chex mix in little dixie cups that were just the right size for their little hands!

For the adults, they actually ate a good bit of the kid food, but we ordered a meat and cheese board from the Party Girls in Gulfport, Miss. It was a hit!

For plates and napkins, we used the farm party supplies from party city.

And for dessert, we had a cute Charlotte’s Web birthday cake from our local bakery, Melissa’s in Gulfport, MS.
